The Republic of Cork

Once Upon a Time...

I moved to Cork, Ireland in the Spring of 2003.
I left Canada with a duffle bag, one JEEP Mountain Bike, and what little worldly possessions I had.

I returned to Canada in 2010.
The Duffle Bag was replaced with several boxes, suitcases and shipments of even more boxes.

Most Importantly I brought home my beautiful and inspiring wife, two children and yes even two Irish cats!

Some Ass Stole My Mountain Bike!

All in All, it Was Worth the Trip!

  1. Very cool that you found those pictures. Too bad the old farm house is now torn down, to make room for a medical center. I miss the garden and the garage... Oh well. I often want to go back there, I must admit. I could plot most of those pictures on the map still :)

  9. I am trying to find a part-time job so RussT & I can save up to go to Ireland next year.
We would go with a Tour Group. My Father's family were from the County of Cork, so I would love to stop over there. Thanks for the Video, so I would have an idea of what the area looked like. All I know is that they were into farrmng. My cousins did a geneology chart, so if I get a chance to go I am going to look at the chart to see exactly where my family might have come from. It wouild be a dream come true.
