From Concept To Skin: The Joys & Tribulations Of Tattooing Script Part Deux - Inked By Mario RJ Corbin

Fun With Script Part Deux - Fantastic Reason & Old Newspaper Type
Since Life After Cobra, my friend decided that he would continue his sleeve with with a fishing lure with his father's and uncle's name inside of it. As well, he wanted the names of his two children with their birthdays in roman numerals. For good measure, his better half also decided that she wanted an infinity sign with her children's names in it as well. Thus, suffice it to say, the challenge to master the art of tattooing script seems to be a continuing theme this month. I find myself hopelessly overwhelmed by the latter. Regardless, I persevered and fortunately, both clients were happy with their tattoos today.

The fishing lure was a fun little piece to complete.
Mikey's passion for fishing seems to hold no bounds as he and his family are keen fishermen and spend much of the summer doing what they love most. With Cobra Commander confidently fishing at the top of his arm it seemed only fitting that the his fishing lure would be an homage to the people that mattered most to him, or rather, to Mikey. He has plans of adding something in honour of his mother the next time he comes and we will continue working on his sleeve over the course of the autumn/winter months.

The script was challenging due to its size.
Unexpectedly his significant other, Kat, also decided that she would like to be tattooed and in doing so wanted an infinity sign with her children's names in it. She wanted to do something out of the norm than a stereotypical infinity sign and with a reference image, I modified another design and incorporated her children's names in it. The infinity sign itself was straightforward to do, not least of all because it is broken up with flowers, leaves and tiny grapes. As for her children's names, I found the experience even more daunting to complete in lieu of the size of the names themselves. In the end, I did my best and an happy that both Mike and Kat like their tattoos very much. Ironically, I will be completing a cover up of an infinity sign on the very spot where I placed this one on Kat today. Hopefully, however, Kat will not want to have hers covered up several years from now.
