If you are thinking of getting your first tattoo or are looking to add to your existing repertoire, look no further! Nestled in the Eastern Townships in Quebec, Canada, Ye Olde Cock Tattoo Emporium offers a variety of tattoo services and prides itself on providing clients with a unique experience in a hygienic and welcoming environment. The latter includes a private studio located in Lennoxville, Quebec and in 2019, a mobile tattoo studio. In addition to the latter, I will be offering home services on a case by case basis (see below). The very best products have been sourced such as the Cheyenne Hawk Pen and official Cheyenne Hawk Needle Cartridges. Eternal Ink is used to create stunning and engaging tattoos. Furthermore, the studio is in compliance with health and safety Bloodborne Pathogens, Infection Prevention and Control and I am trained as a First Aid Responder. My guarantee is simple, if I can't do your specific tattoo request justice, then I will recommend an artist who can! My goal is to create a tattoo culture based on respect, quality art and most of all, happy clients.

Tattooing The World One Client At A Time

Established in 2018, my little studio has mighty aspirations to meet the needs of a variety of clients. Clients are encouraged to contact me to set up a consultation. The latter can be done online or in person. You are encouraged to send me reference material to get an idea of what it is you would like to have done. Whilst I specialize in graphic novel art, I have experience doing a variety of mediums including animation and floral. All drawings are put through a stencil fax machine prior to tattooing to ensure that clients are satisfied with the design, size and placement of the tattoo. I derive my inspiration from an eclectic assortment of tattoo styles. Below is a list of services that are ready to go or that are coming soon.

Got Ink?

Whether it's a small Pusheen Cat or something more intricate and detailed, I am happy to help you realize your tattoo aspirations. I can work with existing designs (e.g. Inktion or something of your choice) or if you wish, I can create a one off design based on your ideas and personal taste. Book a consultation today!

Hate Tattoo Cover Ups

Tit For Tat

Also known as mastectomy tattoos or tittoos, artistic tattoos are different to nipple and areola tattooing. Training is involved for the latter in particular and I will be looking to offer this service directly in the future. In the meantime, however, I am happy to consider artistic tattoos. Many women use this as an opportunity to mark what they have been through or cover or disguise a scar. In addition to re-building confidence, these tattoos are an opportunity to re-define yourself. Book a consultation today!

Appointments & Payment Methods

At Ye Olde Cock Tattoo Emporium a deposit is required for all appointments. This will be applied to the cost of your tattoo (on the final appointment if multiple sittings) and holds your appointment time. In the event that you need to reschedule, 24 hours notice by email to the artist is required. Please be aware that I am booked several weeks in advance. If you reschedule, your new appointment may occur then or later depending on availability. Before booking appointment clients are asked to contact me to set up a consultation. You will be given a set price for your tattoo during the consultation (I do not charge by the hour). The set price is based on the design and size of the tattoo desired. Completely changing a design (resizing that costs me to lose appointment times that were held or changing content after a consult) may be subjected to an additional cost. Deposits and full payments can be made using Cash, Interac e-Transfer, or PayPal. Full payment is expected at the end of the appointment.

Before Your Tattoo Appointment

Pic © Delightful Vegans
Make sure to eat before your appointment. Clients are also encouraged to bring snacks or drinks for long sessions. This is especially true for diabetics. Comfortable clothing is a must and should allow us to access the area being tattooed. Bring an ID proving that you are of legal age. If you haven't been to my studio before, space is small but welcoming! Bring only one friend or family member for moral support if needed. Clients are asked to refrain from drinking alcohol for at least 12 hours before your appointment. Alcohol is a blood thinner and some people bleed quite a bit when they get tattoos. The combination may lead you to feel light headed and or nauseous. Also, be sure to get a good night's rest before your tattoo appointment. Not surprisingly, a well-rested mind and body will be more likely to cope with the stresses associated with getting a tattoo than one that is overtired.

Tattoo Aftercare

Complimentary Aftercare Package Provided With Every New Tattoo!
Upon completion of your tattoo, you will be provided with a mini care package courtesy of Ye Olde Cock Tattoo Emporium. This includes a measured to fit piece of UltraDerm Film Bandage (similar to Saniderm), one complimentary sachet of Hustle Butter (.25oz) and one bar of Dove unscented soap for sensitive skin (or similar). For larger tattoos, you will be able to purchase larger versions of Hustle Butter or Bepanthen (whichever is in stock). In addition to the latter, clients are expected to follow these steps in order to ensure that your tattoo heals properly and looks great for years to come:

  1. At the end of your tattoo session, your arm will be temporarily bandaged. Keep this bandage on for 2 to 5 hours. This is to help prevent infection and will ensure that your body recovers quickly and without complication (e.g. infection).
  2. Wash your hands each time before touching the tattooed areas.
  3. After removing the bandage wash with a hypoallergenic or at the very minimum an unscented soap (e.g. Dove Soap makes both kinds) with warm water. Pat dry with a towel, do not rub! Let air dry for an hour before applying aftercare products (e.g. Hustle Butter/Bepanthen).
  4. If using the UltraDerm Film, clean the area and apply the UltraDerm Film Bandage (or Saniderm). Take note that your tattoo will accumulate fluid beneath the bandage. This is normal, so don't worry! Resist the urge to release the fluid or tamper with the bandage. Keep the bandage on for 3 to 5 days.
  5. Remove the UltraDerm Film Bandage under warm water and repeat steps 2 & 3. You will noticed that much of the skin/ink will look to have been pulled off your tattooed area. Don't worry. This is normal. Let air dry for 2 to 3 hours before applying aftercare products (e.g. Hustle Butter/Bepanthen).
  6. Apply Hustle Butter or Bepanthen (or a product of your choice) to your tattoo every 2 to 3 hours. Do this 2-3 times a day for the first 2-3 days if using Bepanthen or for 4 weeks if using Hustle Butter. Do not put too much product on. You should be putting just enough to make the surface area soft. Whilst I like Hustle Butter, Bepanthen works really well in helping your tattoo heal without flaky skin or peeling. Do not pick or scratch at the tattoo. Doing so could seriously affect the look of your tattoo when healed and could create scarring. Apply after care product as needed (when your tattoo feels itchy, dry or tight). Repeat steps 2 and 3 regularly.
  7. Avoid direct sunlight on the tattoo until it has healed completely. Do NOT use sunscreen until your tattoo is healed! Once healed, apply a broad spectrum waterproof sunblock with an SPF of at least 30 every 2 hours. Excessive exposure to sun can damage tattoos (e.g. fading, bubbling effect, etc).
  8. Do NOT soak your tattoo in water. This means NO hot tubs, saunas, pools, or lakes until the tattoo is completely healed. As a general rule of thumb, this takes 3 to 4 weeks.
  9. Whilst infection is rare, following the above steps should help ensure that your tattoo not only looks great but that it heals properly. Failure to comply can result in your tattoo being damaged. Whilst itching, redness, and irritation is normal if your tattoo begins to blister seek help from a medical professional immediately (CLSC, Family Doctor, etc).
  10. Contact me directly if you have any questions about your tattoo.
Nota Bene: The Aftercare package is available to clients getting a new tattoo.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Tattoos Safe?

Yes, providing that you go to a reputable tattoo studio. The latter includes sterilized equipment and training in bloodborne pathogens. For instance, many of the tools (e.g. needles) used should be unpackaged in front of the client. This ensures that the items being used are new and sterile. A sterilizer or autoclave should be on the property as well. Also, make sure to be open and honest about any medical conditions that you may have. If your gut says no, walk away. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Does It Hurt?

Does a bear shit in the woods?! Pain varies from person to person. There will be parts of your body that will hurt very little whilst other areas may cause more discomfort. You can help prepare by getting plenty of rest and eating well before your appointment. Numbing creams are also a good way to go if you have a low pain tolerance. Furthermore, if this is your first tattoo, start with a small design that can be built upon in the future if you choose to get another tattoo.

Should I Use Numbing Cream?

This is a debatable topic amongst many tattoo artists. Some say never use it because it can affect the quality of the tattoo whilst others state that it has no negative effects providing that the tattoo artist takes their time - meaning they have to go slower than usual to ensure that the needle penetrates the skin and the ink sets. If you have a low pain threshold or are planning to get a tattoo in a sensitive area, I personally recommend using a numbing cream. This can be purchased at my studio during your consultation or from a pharmacy. Clients should apply the numbing cream generously in the area to be tattooed at least 45 minutes prior to your appointment. You can use saran wrap to keep the numbing cream from drying.

Can I Bring A Friend?

Yes, but given the limited space at both my studio and eventually, the VW Van, please limit your entourage to 1 person. Preferably bring someone who will help you feel calm throughout your experience as opposed to making you feel even more stressed.

How Old Do I Have To Be To Get A Tattoo?

You must be 18 years old or older. If you are under 18 years old you will require a parent or legal guardian's signature. They will also have to be present whilst you are getting your tattoo.

Can I Bring My Child(ren)?

No, sorry. Whilst I love children, the studio is a small, sterile environment and requires that you remain focused on the task at hand. There would be even less room in the VW Bus when its launched in 2019.

Can I Bring My Own Design?

Absolutely! However, be prepared to re-work or re-imagine your design as your idea may not be able to be tattooed. The tattoo not only has to look good but equally as important, it needs to fit your body just right and stand the test of time.

Can You Freshen Up My Old Tattoo?

It depends on the kind of tattoo that you want to have freshened up. If you have an old tattoo that could use a bit of a facelift, we can work on making it look new again. However, some things, like a portrait (realism or hyperrealism) is best left to someone with expertise in this area of tattooing. Send me pictures of your tattoo and we can take it from there.

Do You Do Piercings & Laser Removal?

No. However, Nephty's Tattoo in Sherbrooke do. They offer a wide range of services including piercings and hyper-realism. Crystal-Marie at Beauty Ink in Lennoxville also offers piercings.

Will My Tattoo Fade?

Inevitably, yes. You can slow the effect of fading/aging by using moisturizers, avoiding direct sunlight, and using sunscreen. Keep in mind that certain tattoos do stand the test of time better than others. This depends on a variety of factors including placement, colour, and style. A well-chosen tattoo design will age gracefully and become an integral part of who you are.

When Should I Not Get A Tattoo?

You should NOT get a tattoo if you are pregnant, sick, intoxicated, on medication that impairs judgment, under the influence of non-prescriptive drugs, pre or post surgery, if you are undecided as to what you want, when you are sunburned when you are being pressured into it, etc.

What Is The Best Time Of Year To Get A Tattoo?

Ironically, the majority of people in our neck of the woods tend to get fresh ink in summer. This is actually the worst time to get a tattoo because you are more likely to neglect it. The latter includes going to the beach, swimming, sunbathing, using the wrong kind of sunscreen, etc. Ideally, you should be getting your tattoo during winter when you are covered head to toe in lieu of the miserable cold weather.

What Happens If I Am Late?

Don't be. If you are late I may have to reschedule your appointment - particularly if I have another appointment after you. In the event that you need to reschedule, I require an email 24 hours in advance. Please be aware that I am booked several weeks in advance. If you reschedule, your new appointment may occur then or later depending on availability.

What Happens If I No-Show During My Appointment?

Don't do it. Unless you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident, there is absolutely no reason to pull a no-show. Its disrespectful and a waste of everyone's time, especially mine. Your deposit will be forfeited and no further appointments will be scheduled for you.

Why Do You Require A Deposit?

Deposits help to ensure you make it to your appointment and that I haven’t completed hours of work preparing your drawing for nothing.

Should I Tip My Tattoo Artist?

This is debatable amongst many tattoo artists. Thus, be sure to ask your tattoo artist in advance of his or her expectations so you can budget accordingly. However, you are not required to tip me on top of the cost of your tattoo. If you would like to show your appreciation this way, some clients choose to tip the way you would tip other service industries. Alternatively, write a positive review, spread the word and help me help others achieve their tattoo dreams.

How Much Does It Cost?

It depends on placement, size, and style. Presently I will be offering clients a set price for a tattoo. This means that the price given remains the same regardless if it takes me less time or more time than originally expected to complete your tattoo. It saves you money in the long run.

Do I Have To Pay For Touch-Ups?

No. Clients will be able to get free touch-ups for a maximum of 1 year. However, touch-ups only include the original, completed tattoo and NOT adding new designs to your existing tattoo.
